EXPERT UKRAINE GROUP’S RATING CENTRE
On January, 11, 2007, Rating Centre of Expert Ukraine IG was reformed to Expert Rating RA (rating agency) Ltd. Expert Rating RA Ltd. completely answers the Securities and Stock market State Comission’s terms laid to authorized rating agencies.
The Rating Centre project was launched by Expert Ukraine Group on February, 2006. At the beginning of its activity it was a rating department of Expert Ukraine magazine. Later on the department has been transformed to the Rating Centre of Expert Ukraine Group (igexpert.pdf).
The main goal of the Expert Rating RA is to make modern Ukrainian business more transparent and comprehensible to investors and partners. It works to offer comprehensive information and analysis to companies operating in Ukraine, mainly through its ratings, analytical research, informational manuals, and professional conferences.
Expert Rating RA takes an active part in generation of the competitive market of the rating services in Ukraine. We disapprove the practice of obligatory rating in Ukraine. We consider the obligatory rating to be the way to the sags in the development of the country’s financial market. Thus it deprives the regulator of the opportunity to influence the financial agents.
Ratings play an important role in modern capital markets. But in the terms of domestic market where the developed technology of information disclosure is absent and the administration of internationally accepted standards of operations and accounting is insufficient, any credit rating contains the probability of an error. We are not going to bring any body in a verdict of guilty. Our Rating Agency is ready to offer to issuers, investors and financial institutions an alternative — the system of requested ratings.
Our mission is to gather and analyze a variety of financial, industry, market and economic information, synthesize that information, and publish independent, credible assessments of the liability of Ukrainian companies, thereby providing a convenient way for investors to judge the credit quality of various alternative investment options. We not just give a rating letter. We help to create a technology of information disclosure in Ukraine. The objective system of rating combined with Expert Ukraine Group’s unique channels of information distribution transforms ratings to instrument, which favors the effective advancement of securities, products and services of financial agents in the capital market.
